Philly, Football, and Fine Whisky: Tony Returns to the Huddle

Award Winning Loch Lomond Whisky
Loch Lomond - Winning awards, year on year!

Since the Eagles won the Super Bowl in February, aside a quick cameo appearance for the draft pod, I’ve been a bit off the grid. Some of you thought I’d left the podcast. Some of you hoped I’d left the podcast (ha ha!). And the rest of you didn’t even notice I was gone!

So I’ve not left, or disappeared, or moved to the US (like someone else I know!) - it’s just been a mad summer.  Despite what you may have been led to believe on a recent British & Irish Eagles pod (again, by that same someone else I know!), my role within Loch Lomond Whiskies has changed quite a bit – all as a result of some really exciting developments.

First up, we’re putting the finishing touches to a brand-new distillery and visitor experience in Luss, a beautiful little village right on the banks of Loch Lomond. It’s something I’m incredibly proud of, and I genuinely hope some of you will come and visit. The Luss Distillery is not just about gin or whisky—it’s about the place, the people, and the experience. If you’re ever heading up the West Coast of Scotland, please drop by.

And if that wasn’t enough, we’ve also acquired the New York Distilling Company in Brooklyn. NYDC specialise in New York American Rye whiskey and while I’m biased, it’s an incredible liquid.  The main brand will be “Jaywalk” which we’ve been working hard on developing the brand and story.  I’ll be getting Phill and Mik to be the samplers – watch this space for their reviews!

So yeah, it’s been a summer of big moves, long days, and exciting new chapters.  Of course, I’ll need to visit Brooklyn a few times a year, particularly between September and January!

PSI and especially the British and Irish Eagles are still very much part of my world, and I’m looking forward to jumping back in with fresh (terrible) takes and the usual nonsense!

Go Birds!

Tony
